Monday marks a new school year and a new start for GISD. With Der Schlickmeister Lynne Cleveland gone to greener pastures, we have Mr. Nichols who will arrive to try to straighten out the mess.  We wish him the best and pledge to work with him to improve the district. Coming from the bottom, up is the only way we can go! 

Perhaps without the manipulative allure that Cleveland had on the Lack of Trustees, they can come to their senses and realize that they have allowed a huge mess to be created and they have a big challenge in front of them. With an honest and open Superintendent who has the success of the students as his main objective, GISD just might turn around. That’s what we all wanted in a Superintendent and that’s what we’ve been told we have been given. 

I get lots of bad mouthing about the site but the reason I created it was because the old Superintendent and the Lack of Trustees never listened to us in the first place. It’s become a place to vent and debate ideas. That’s a good thing. The nasty and ugly sniping is a bad thing but even that gives us a sense of the state of the district. Despite the Lack of Trustees’ thoughts that the “populace” does not care what goes on, in fact, we do. We care more than most!!  Day after day we read and debate and rant and rave. We have made some differences.  We have lost many battles. But we’ll keep fighting and we hope that, with a real Superintendent, we’ll get GISD moving along to become the education district that we dream of!!
